Our hob manufacturing capabilities range from 0.8 to 50 DP in precision ground (up to AGMA Class AA or DIN Class AAA) or unground forms. We can manufacture hobs with any profile modifications you might require for finishing, pre-grind, pre-shave, pre-skive or roughing applications. A variety of materials and PVD coatings are available to fully suit your tooling needs.

When designing custom hobs, Barit gives special consideration to factors like materials, dimensions, coatings and cutting parameters in order to optimize tool design. Our engineers use specialized software, CAD and expertise gained in over 80 years of manufacturing gear hobs.

We are proud to offer some of the shortest lead times in the tooling industry for custom gear hobs, however we know that urgent prototypes and emergency breakdowns demand special attention. In such cases, we offer our Expedited Delivery Service. Since we do not stock pre-cut blanks, our Expedited Delivery hobs are completely optimized to your job in terms of hob materials, dimensions, numbers of gashes and numbers of starts.
